Position Description:
As the Indigenous Community Navigator, you will lead our Indigenous Community Engagement and oversee Service Providers in the Northwestern catchment. You will support the Service Provider network towards fostering collaborative relationships with Indigenous communities, organizations, and partners. You will actively support the network to champion the alignment and continuous development of programs and services that are inclusive and culturally relevant to meet the needs of Indigenous jobseekers.

**In this role, you will**:
Lead Outreach:

- Develop and implement Indigenous outreach, coordinating and participating in various events to raise awareness of our programs and services.
- Proactively collaborate and liaise with Service Providers and Indigenous organizations, such as Indigenous Skills and Employment Training (ISET’s), to establish culturally appropriate jobseeker referrals and ensure our programs and services are culturally relevant.
- Coordinate the creation and delivery of Indigenous Cultural Competency Training, workshops, discussion circles, and other initiatives in collaboration with Serco’s Manager of Indigenous Relations and Local Indigenous partners.
- Maintain and develop Indigenous training materials and resources, aligning them with the needs of local Indigenous jobseekers to support our programs and services.
- Collaborate with the Employment Services Team and Service Provider network to recommend and liaise with Indigenous organizations, leveraging their resources, expertise, and geographic coverage to enhance employment strategies, training opportunities, and work placements for our employment programs and services.
- Take a proactive role in the development of key employer partnerships to promote the inclusive hiring of Indigenous jobseekers and maintain a flow of employment opportunities for participants.

Oversee Service Delivery:

- Manage Service Providers to ensure quality delivery of Employment Services, providing collaborative support to meet performance targets and contractual obligations. This includes addressing under-performance or non-compliance issues during performance reviews and proactively identifying, reporting, and resolving risks, issues, and operational challenges to ensure compliance within the service delivery framework.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to foster a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing, enhancing service quality and effectiveness.
- Serve as a point for complaint escalation, ensuring prompt resolution through effective solution facilitation.
- Undertake any additional tasks and duties that may be reasonably required, in line with the level of responsibility within the area.

- Proficient in conflict management and resolution.

- High degree of integrity and judgment.
- Proficient computer skills such as MS Office Suite, along with a proficiency in navigating and adapting to new technology tools.
- Proven ability to meet objectives and targets while effectively managing performance metrics for success.
- Familiarity working in environments with thorough operational security measures and confidentiality protocols.

**Qualifications**:

- Demonstrate an understanding of Employment Ontario programs and the employability sector. Experience in other areas will be considered.
- Demonstrate an understanding of social services sectors and the key local Indigenous partners.
- Post-Secondary training in Indigenous studies, social services, or other related fields. An equivalent combination of education and experience from other areas of study will also be considered.
- Experience working effectively with Indigenous Communities and Organizations, showing sensitivity, and understanding of Indigenous cultural practices and values, considered and asset.
- Possess a valid Driver’s License and ability to travel as required.
- Must be able to Pass Criminal Record Check (CPIC), Fingerprint Criminal Record Check.
- Proficiency in additional languages such as Cree or Ojibwa are considered an asset.
