Operational Planner

Description

Primary Responsibilities:

- Effectively communicate production status/schedule with CSR, Business Development and production team. (Single point of contact)
- Schedule the production floor
- Material Availability Analysis, Tracking and Reporting functions to ensure continuity within the manufacturing centers
- Manage assigned product lines and drive the demand in the ERP system taking into account customer requirements, material availability and production capacity.
- Manage Production Kit Readiness including working with cross-functional team in BOM, Material Master, Process Engineering, Operations, and Document Control
- Coordinate’s kitting process with multiple stores and consolidation areas
- Releasing production orders in MRP system and confirming in shop floor system
- Identify and highlight potential risks/constraints to ensure the on-time completion of the schedule.
- Provide production floor support including replacement part management, shop floor material staging, Work in Progress (WIP) movement through shared resource areas, completion of units in shop floor and MRP system, delivery to next step (inventory or shipment), and meeting MRP schedule
- Control the physical disposition of non-conforming or specially handled material including Return to Vendor, purged material, and configuration of components/sub-assemblies as required
- Maintain and track integrity of the shop floor, MRP, and inventory systems through key performance metrics
- Establish and maintain critical working relationship with Buyers, Senior Buyers, Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance and Quality Assurance functional business areas
- Process piece part movement to support internal build and prototype requirements through subcontractors, internal shared resources, and other manufacturing facilities
- Involved in ECN (Engineering Change Notice) process. Analyses impact of ECN on materials, suggests cutover dates to limit impact on materials obsolescence.
- Works with Engineering on New Product Development. Coordinates materials pan for new products to ensure parts are ordered and delivered in a timely fashion.
- Quote factory lead times to Business Development based on material availability and production capacity.

**Requirements**:
Essential Qualifications:

- Post-secondary education or equivalent with 4+ years of relevant manufacturing experience in supply chain management supporting a dynamic production environment
- Knowledge of MRP systems, Oracle JD Edwards experience preferred
- Experience in Material and Inventory Control-type systems such as Kanban, SMI, Continuous Flow Manufacturing
- Experience utilizing lean manufacturing concepts to support continuous improvement initiatives
- Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
- Self-starter who requires mínimal supervision, works well with teammates and customers, and has a results-based mindset and proven track record of success
- Knowledge of working across business areas and interface at all levels of organization and demonstrates good business acumen
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to coordinate with various disciplines and executive levels of management
- Ability to multitask, well-organized and works well under schedule pressure and critical need due dates
