**Job Description: Customer Service (Summer Student)**

Merridale is a family-run business that has been creating memorable experiences for over 30 years. We use traditional methods of fermenting and distilling to produce our craft cider and spirits, which we share with our valued customers through our farm tours, tastings, farm-to-table meals, shopping, and events.

We offer training to all team members and do not require any previous work experience so this is a great first job or first hospitality job for new workers. Our team is composed of dedicated individuals who work together harmoniously, fostering a positive and enjoyable workplace. We value attitude and work ethic, and while experience is appreciated, we are also happy to provide training for the job. We firmly believe that anyone can acquire the skills necessary for this position while on the job if they have the desire to learn.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Assisting and serving our guests with enthusiasm and attentiveness
- Greeting people at the door and guiding them to their table, the retail store or the tasting area
- Effectively communicating the Merridale philosophy and product information to customers and staff
- Ensuring exceptional customer service while maintaining a smooth flow of operations on the floor
- Contributing to a sales-based culture by fostering brand advocates among our guests
- Serving food and drinks to guests, taking their orders

**Helpful Skills**:

- No prior experience in the food and beverage industry required; we provide training
- A passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-centric mindset
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn

Merridale is a cidery, distillery, and eatery located in the beautiful Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island. Our farm serves as a destination where we grow our own apples and produce craft cider, spirits, food, and memorable experiences for our guests. **Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 8-20 per week

**Salary**: From $16.75 per hour
