- We are seeking a Research Scientist to join our multidisciplinary R&D team working on development of bioprinted tissue therapeutics for treating metabolic disorders, including diabetes. In this role, you will be involved in establishing innovative cellular and tissue engineering approaches and qualified in vitro characterization methodologies for development of bioprinted tissue therapeutics suitable for preclinical testing and translation into clinical manufacturing. Working closely with a team of cell biologists, biomaterials scientists, bioprinting experts, and engineers, you will be driving high-impact projects that define and rigorously test the requirements for delivering clinically relevant stem cell-derived tissues manufactured using Aspect’s 3D microfluidic bioprinting technology through the early product development life cycle.

**What You’ll Do**:

- Develop methodologies for evaluating therapeutic cell interactions with biomaterials used to fabricate bioprinted tissues and help select lead formulations.
- Contribute to development of project milestones, timelines, and product deliverables in collaboration with senior R&D and program management teams.
- Search and evaluate potential 3rd party collaborators/contractors, liaise with partners.
- Create SOPs, deliver experimental reports, and present experimental results to key internal and external stakeholders.
- Identify protectable IP developed in your activities and support IP team with patent filings.
- Contribute to regulatory documentation and filings related to bioprinted tissue therapeutics in development.
- Maintain clear and rigorous experimental records, including laboratory notebooks and data documentation using GDP.

**Who You Are**:

- ** Education**:PhD (or MSc/BSc with 3+ years industry experience) in cell biology, biomedical engineering, or relevant discipline.
- **Technical experience**: Extensive hands-on experience in assay development at the molecular, biochemical, cellular, and tissue level. Experience with medical device testing and mechanical assays a bonus.
- ** Cell biology and tissue engineering expert**: Subject matter expert and hands-on experience in primary and stem cell technologies for therapeutic product development.
- **Preclinical product development experience**: Familiarity with the preclinical regulatory requirements for cell therapy and/or surgically implantable therapeutics/devices. Experience leading collaborations with CROs and working with partner organizations.
