We are searching for two permanent part-time Program Supervisor to lead a team of school-age educators to provide before and after-school care, and full-day services during school breaks, to nurture, care and guide 25 - 30 children, in program rooms, ranging from 5 to 12 years; and to create and maintain a collaborative team environment.

**You are able to**:

- Plan, implement, document, and evaluate emergent curriculum and activities reflective of individual and group interests and needs of children and families.
- Plan curriculum with a focus on recreation, leadership, arts, sports, social justice, and environmental awareness
- Foster a strong sense of belonging, inclusion, and collaboration
- Provide for the health, safety, and emotional well-being of children
- Build and maintain strong “shared caring” partnerships with families
- Maintain supportive, collaborative relationships with VSOCC colleagues and community partners.

**You will have**:

- Minimum 3 years experience working in a licensed childcare program with school-age children.
- Minimum 1-year supervisory experience
- Completed course(s), of at least 20 hours duration, in child development, guidance, health, and safety or nutrition
- Child Care or Occupational Level 1 First Aid certification & Food Safe Basic certification
- Strong knowledge and awareness of:

- Child development and needs of school-age children
- Program planning for school-age children. Understanding of BC Early Learning Framework, an asset
- Family engagement strategies and parenting issues within a diverse community
- Knowledge & experience with:

- Leadership, supervision, facilitation techniques, and team building
- Children with extra support needs, and support and resources for families
- Child care and its role in schools and community
- Ability to take initiative, work independently and demonstrate good judgment
- Functional computer literacy in Word, Excel, and Outlook Your additional assets may include:

- Post-secondary training in School Age Care, Early Childhood Education, Child and Youth, Recreation, Education, or related fields
- A Second Language

**Terms of Employment**: **Permanent part-time position working Monday to Friday 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM; plus an additional shift of 7:30 AM to 9:00 AM for one week out of every two weeks. Regular 7.5 hours on school closures (Pro D Days, Winter, Spring & Summer Breaks)**

**Salary**: $28.33 per hour
