**About the Role**
- The Food Safety Supervisor is an integral member of the site Food Safety Management team. The Food Safety Supervisor responsibilities are to oversee the daily tasks of the food safety department including maintaining food safety programs as per Company Policies and Procedures. The Food Safety Supervisor must be able to communicate and interact with all levels of personnel and assimilate pertinent information and data. The Food Safety Supervisor must possess the ability to manage multiple activities as well as urgent requests in a professional and timely manner. The Food Safety Supervisor is directly responsible for the oversight of the food safety program of the Chatham facility. The Food Safety Supervisor has a strong commitment to food and employee safety and ensures compliance at all times.**Key Responsibilities**
- Oversee the plant’s food safety management system to ensure all corporate, customers’ applicable regulatory requirements: CFIA/Canada & FDA/USA are met.
- Develop, implement, and coordinate the HACCP /GMP/OPRP/ PRPs requirements.
- Support in developing food safety related work instructions, SOP and SSOPs.
- Coordinate audits (Internal/GFSI/Customer/Regulatory/Certification audits) and developing, implementing and tracking CAPAs.
- Develop, implement and maintain compliance with the food defense and IA requirements.
- Lead food safety risk analysis for raw material/process/finished products, and applicable internal and external food safety issues.
- Coordinate customer complaint investigations, root cause analysis and updating in the Salesforce case management.
- Achieve GFSI and third party certifications (Kosher, Halal, RSPO, UTZ etc.).
- Direct oversight of the daily food safety activity, and support Food Safety Culture, and Continuous Improvement processes in the plant.
- Food safety leads in conducting HACCP/Food safety & Quality Meetings, making minutes and documentation as per the GFSI requirement.
- Liaise between production, supply chain, CSR and vendor to ensure food safety objectives are met and maintained in the supply chain.
- Principal trainer for food safety/GMP and responsible for the plant-wide training as well as specific plant employee training: New Hire and Refresher training
- Focal contact point for all food safety concerns for customer, external party, and regional/global food safety communication.
- Work as a PCQI to review and sign off the food safety documents as per FSMA or SFCA.
- Supervise, manage and develop Food Safety Analyst and other food safety staff.
- Compile reports for food safety KPI’s, Supplier NCR’s, GMP audit and FB Toolbox report.
- Spend time on the plant floor for coaching & training employees, focus on food safety culture and other critical areas
- Ensure validation, verification and monitoring of food safety and sanitation programs are completed and executed.
- Assist in managing the site’s DMS: creating, maintaining and uploading policy and procedures.
- Perform projects and special requests as assigned including local or regional initiatives.
- Support on Regional FS projects as needed.
- In the absence of the QA Manager, represent all Food Safety Systems and Processes.
- The Food Safety Supervisor is directly responsible for the oversight of the food safety program at the Barry Callebaut Chatham facility located at Chatham, Ontario, Canada.
- BC Chatham produces and supplies the product throughout North America (including Canada, USA & Mexico), and the Food Safety Supervisor role contributes and supports Barry Callebaut’s North American supply chain.

**About You**
- University graduate or College diploma in Food Science, Microbiology, Biology, or related science discipline.
- International HACCP alliance accredited HACCP certified.
- Certified Preventive Control Qualified Individual (PCQI).
- Knowledge of designing, implementing and managing GMP and HACCP Food Safety Plan in a food manufacturing industry.
