We have an exciting opportunity to join the Supply Management team at Irving Oil in the role of Category Manager - Rail, Marine, & Terminals Procurement. In this role you will bring your expertise in Supply and Project Management to lead the development, implementation, and execution of sourcing and contract strategies for our Products, Terminals, and Logistics teams.

**Your roles and responsibilities**:

- Manage the performance of direct reports and hold them accountable to deliver on their performance objectives
- Develop team skills and resiliency through coaching, mentoring, training, and team succession planning
- Lead the development and implementation of category contracting and procurement strategies to support the day to day operational and capital projects needs of the P&T business
- Manage multiple stakeholders across a broad category base with competing business priorities
- Understand and align to business unit strategies, priorities, and plans
- Engage with business unit stakeholders to monitor and resolve any issues with supplier’s delivery of services or supply of goods
- Develop and manage communication and reporting protocols to ensure all P&T teams are provided with timely and relevant updates
- Provide support to the business and suppliers during project kick-off and closure meetings
- Support the management of supplier performance during the course of their work
- Support the expediting of materials, equipment, and services to ensure project timelines are met
- Support the development, implementation, and compliance of all related policies, processes, and procedures

- Ability to quickly identify critical aspects of issues, creatively use data sources, structure complex analyses, develop recommendations, and sell to stakeholders

- In depth knowledge of strategic sourcing, procurement, and project execution principles
- Strong negotiation and dispute resolution skills
- Excellent communication, presentation, and public speaking skills
- Committed to building relationships and achieving results
- Ability to influence and drive change without authority

**Travel**:

- Minimal travel may be required for this role.

**Education and experience**:

- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
- 10+ years contracting, procurement, and/or project management experience
- 5-10 years people management experience
- SCMP or equivalent designation is an asset
- Knowledge of Oil & Gas, Rail, and Marine Logistics industries is an asset
