Wallflower Bakery is looking for a Lead Baker to supervise the everyday production of our doughnuts, cookies, scones, and muffins.

The Lead Baker is responsible for all day to day operations related to baking, managing and training the baking staff, and creating a vibrant culture and a healthy team setting.

To be successful in this role, the Lead Baker should have leadership skills, time management skills, organizational skills, customer service skills, knowledge of baking and what the industry is doing/serving, and a motivation to keep responsible areas clean and presentable.

The Lead Baker oversees costing and ordering related to bakery items/ products/menu, is responsible for portion and inventory control, and produces baked items for the wholesale accounts.

**Responsibilities**:
**Lead Baker Duties**:

- Set a positive tone and strong work ethic, leading by example
- Train and educate the team on Wallflower Bakery’s process and procedures, communicating information and any changes to the team
- Manage quantities to be baked, maintaining stock levels on hand and keeping waste to a minimum
- Participate in setting the menu for baked offerings, keeping a balance of maintaining/innovating baked offerings, trying new recipes and tweaking as needed
- Cost out offerings to ensure margins are correct
- Follow other doughnut shops and bakeries to remain current on popular items/ideas
- Execute large custom and/or wholesale orders
- Manage the schedule for the team
- Maintain inventory for baking related ingredients and order as needed
- Assess what needs accomplished, then prioritize and delegate
- Keep the team motivated and working, checking for quality and thoroughness
- Monitor equipment operation and report any maintenance needs
- Oversee the work of junior bakers to make sure that they are preparing high-quality products and complying with all safety and sanitation protocols
- May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

**Salary**: $18.00-$19.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
