Are you passionate that libraries must find new ways to engage the community through our digital spaces that support learning, social and community development, creativity and innovation? If you answered YES, then join us as we continue to revolutionize our technology to meet both the needs of the Library and its customers. In this role, you will support Oakville Public Library’s mandate to Inspire Oakville through technology.
**What you'll do**
**As a Technology and Projects Supervisor you will**:
- Oversee and manage OPL's technology solutions, including software and hardware assets, by coordinating all aspects of their lifecycle, from software migrations and equipment installs to maintenance, repairs, lifecycle updates and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate closely with the OPL Technology team and the Town ITS department to ensure timely and effective support for all technology assets, and implement best practices and standards to ensure high-quality, secure, and reliable technology services for library staff and patrons.
- Serve as the OPL Website Product Manager, responsible for overseeing customer needs, feedback, and technology advancements to manage the roadmap for OPL website enhancements. Collaborate closely internally and vendor teams to coordinate the implementation of website enhancements, content updates, and UX development, ensuring high-quality and engaging user experiences for library patrons.
- Ensure timely and effective lifecycle updates for the website platform and keep abreast of the latest trends and best practices in website development and design to drive continuous improvement and innovation in OPL's online presence.
- Coordinate reports design and preparation of routine library board statistics for senior leadership. Coordinate collection, validation, and maintenance of accurate data sets for reports to inform library operations and decision-making. Maintain documentation and training materials, and keep up-to-date with trends and best practices in library statistics and data analytics. Coordinate OPL technology tickets with Town Information Technology Services department, vendors and within internal OPL technology team.
- Collaborate and elicit feedback from library management and staff to identify technology improvements or issues and coordinate work between the library technology team and Town ITS to implement/resolve.
- Work in partnership with Town of Oakville IT to ensure the library business needs are being met and supported by current technology solutions including web platforms; or implement new technology solutions that address needs.
- Assist in the statistical analysis and evaluation of technology use.
- Ensure appropriate standard operating procedures, technical documentation, and methodologies, including training documentation are developed for all OPL specific technology.
- Evaluate and recommend solutions and improvements within all areas of technical operations.
- First escalation point internally for technology related items/tickets
- Responsible for two direct reports: Technology Technicians
- Responsible for Project Management support for medium to large scale library projects
- Assist in achieving business plan objectives.
- Seek new innovations and best practices applicable for OPL.
- Lead or participate on internal teams and committees.
- Maintain transparent and timely communication with departments and staff.
- Consult on multiple projects as required.

**We're looking for someone who can**:
- Demonstrate experience leading teams or/and overseeing operations in a technology related field.
- Possess a strong understanding of technology functionality, including both hardware and software solutions, and demonstrate a track record of successful implementation of technology projects.
- Demonstrate experience in Website Product Management and possess a strong understanding of web development technologies and design.
- Demonstrate an ability to manage UX development with vendors and collaborate closely with the Town Information Technology department to ensure seamless implementation of website enhancements.
- Demonstrate experience in a Project Manager role, preferable in technical field.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrate experience in designing and delivering in-house training.
- Act as a change agent by effectively communicating and supporting change initiatives to OPL staff.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, and an ability to collaborate and build consensus across diverse stakeholder groups.
- Manage multiple priorities/projects simultaneously.
- Deliver excellent service to customers of all ages by adhering to the library’s customers service pledge and following AODA’s Customers Service Standard
- Communicate effectively with a variety of audiences and individuals
