Operations Manager

As Operations Manager with Patterson Dental, you will partner with the Branch General Manager and the Service Manager to develop (and implement) strategies, carry out best practices and reach branch objectives. You will direct and supervise all branch operational functions, including but not limited to: equipment, event planning and customer education, customer service, accounting, showroom and inventory management.
**Major Duties**:
- Acting as a leader to the operations team and the whole branch by displaying a positive attitude and leading by example.
- Being responsible for branch operations.
- Developing action plans in order to rectify operational weaknesses, such as capital control; specifically credits and receivables, in order to implement strategies for the proper use of assets.
- Coordinating necessary activities in order ensure collection of branch’s delinquent accounts.
- Suggesting necessary improvements in certain areas in order to comply with regulations and to improve branch efficiency.
- Providing support to sales personnel and operational execution of sales and marketing initiatives.
- Improving workplace efficiency and ensuring compliance to company policies and standards.
- Developing and implementing spending control and procedure policies; analyzing cost data and suggesting appropriate corrective measures and methods to reduce excessive spending (as well as acting according to established recommendations).
- Reviewing and evaluating work of subordinates by offering support and coaching to employees in order to improve their performance.
- Analyzing financing, rental, amortization, transport and practice plan costs to ensure there is no abuse (and implementing action plans to correct situations as needed).
- Interpreting and communicating company policies in a clear and efficient way.
- Ensuring that assets are used adequately to meet company objectives.
- Being responsible for the financial management of the branch by controlling receivables and spending.
- Ensuring that operations budget is followed, as well as other budget items.
- Fulfilling other tasks as assigned.
- Collaborating with the general manager and the service manager to create and maintain a customer service culture within the branch.
**Job qualifications**:
- Bachelor’s degree in management or accounting or equivalent, or relevant professional experience.
- At least two years’ experience in a supervisor role (or equivalent).
- Previous experience with operations management, finance, inventory management, accounting or human resources is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of the dental industry is an asset.
- Capacity to plan and organize efficiently, to solve problems and to make prompt decisions is essential.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
- Knowledge of SAP is an asset.
- Capacity to perform various general accounting tasks.
- Capacity to work in teams.
- Detail-oriented and able to take initiative.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required as well.
- General proficiency with computers is required, including MS Office suite (Word and Excel).
