Available Work Terms: (4-month and 8-month placements)
Key Responsibilities:
- Use of Geomatics technology (GIS, GPS and remote sensing) to manage GIS databases and processes that support asset management and capital planning.-
- Expand catalogue of solutions through ESRI apps- Assist in integration of the GIS with other software vendors- Field work (data collection and surveying)- Other duties as required
Skills and Knowledge:
- Advanced use of the ESRI ArcGIS software- Excellent verbal and written communication skills- Public speaking skills- Strong organizational and planning abilities- Strong computer skills- Good analytical skills- Demonstrates strong learning agility- Knowledge of spatial analysis, metadata and principles of relational databases- Dependable and self-motivated- Ability to work cooperatively and effectively in a team- A strong understanding of safety in the workplace- Comfortable working in the field (surveying and data collection)
We seek students that:
- Are eligible and available for a (4-month or 8-month) work term placement beginning May 2025- Solid academic performance with a G.P.A. equivalent to 3.0 or higher- Current post-secondary studies in one of the following programs and will return to school upon completion of their work term- Specialization in GIS/Geomatics
