ABOUT ALLIANCE FRANÇAISE VANCOUVER (AFV)
AFV is a cultural centre and a recognized establishment for teaching French as a foreign language. AFV is a local non-profit society founded in 1904. It is part of an international network with a shared mission to promote the French language and francophone cultures. Every year, AFV organizes around 80 events welcoming more than 3,500 attendees and working with 50 cultural partners on the delivery of its programs. Each year, more than 14,000 hours of classes are taught to over 2,600 students.

MISSIONS OF THE POSITION
(Under the responsibility of the AFV Executive Director)
Audio / Stage
- FOH mix (be able to mix a 5 people band on stage)
- Stage setup according to the stage plot, artist needs or client needs
- Microphones and audio equipment setup according to audio, artists, and clients needs
- Strike and stage cleaning after events
- Multitrack audio recording if required.
- Sending of the audio records to artists/clients.
- Maintenance of audio equipment Lights
- Lightning control during the show
- Lightning Setup according artist needs, client needs or stage plot
- Focus and cue programming
- Maintenance of lightning equipment

Video
Video Control and playback
- Video Recording if required
- Sending video recording to artists/clients
- Maintenance of the video equipment
- Knowledge in hybrid + events (zoom, teams, OBS studio)
- Setting up camera/recording
- Knowledge in video switchers

Misc.
- Technical preparation prior the event: reading and analyse of the technical rider and stage plot, preparation according to technical needs and theatre possibilities.
- Equipment rentals (backline, audio equipment, sceneries, lights, etc.), within the allocated budget
- Artists’ liaison
- Technical advisory and consultation for future events in the theatre
- Theatre general maintenance, inventory management, new equipment buying. All other tasks requested by the hierarchy.

REQUIRED PROFILE
Technical skills:

- Good command of computer tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint...) and particularly Google suite
- VLC
- Playback Pro
- Knowledge of PC and Apple tools Personal skills:

- Excellent level of English and B2 level in French
- Interpersonal skills in an intercultural environment
- Rigor and organizational/planning skills
- Autonomy, responsibility, and decision making
- Taste for teamwork, ability to listen and analyze needs

Other skills appreciated:

- Experience in managing cultural spaces: gallery, theater, cinema, cultural center....
- Pro activity, autonomy in his work
- Strength of proposals
- Dynamism, availability, and initiative
- Knowledge of platforms and software: PHOTOSHOP
- Knowledge of video editing: Final Cut Pro & Adobe Premier

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Annual salary depending on experience, + benefits
Paid vacations: 4 weeks including 1 mandatory week during the annual holiday closure
