**YOUR ROLE**

The Quality Assurance Specialist (Construction) will be responsible for the quality assurance & quality control of all Construction Survey Projects. You will ensure plans and calculations are correct and that they conform to Caltech’s high internal standards, Federal, Provincial & Municipal regulations, industry licensing requirements and Land Titles registration requirements. You work primarily on construction plans, but will be required to also act as Quality Assurance Specialist on other work, as required.

**Your duties will include**:

- Support the development of drafting standards and calculations standards related to construction survey project deliverables.
- Ensure overall quality assurance & quality control of Plans, calculations, and deliverables.
- Review Plans and calculations for completeness & accuracy using Caltech & industry standards of practice; including applicable provincial land surveying Acts, Manual of Standard Practice & industry licensing requirements.
- Conduct calculations & comparisons to ensure Plan numerical information is correct.
- Note errors & omissions on the Plans and calculations and note modifications.
- Ensure survey data processing was done correctly.
- Review all project documents; check to ensure most current versions of documents are used for all calculations.
- Communicate with Field Crew and / or Project Manager to verify information.
- Complete task specific or projects Checklists as required.
- Maintain familiarity with current survey & checking techniques, as well as maintain current knowledge of legislation and codes and suggest updates to quality control checklists as needed.
- Other duties are required.


**YOUR SKILLS**

**To be successful in this role, you will need**:

- Completion of the Geomatics diploma program / Engineering Design and Drafting Technology diploma and/or equivalent experience; College technical diploma or a degree in GIS, surveying, geomatics or mapping;
- Experience drafting or mapping construction survey plans
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Active participation in Caltech Inc. health and safety program.
- Strong commitment to excellence, attention to detail and time management.

**It would also be an asset if you had**:

- Experience with calculations related to construction survey projects. Tasks that earthworks alignments and surfaces calculations, gridlines, pile calculations, anchor bolts, concreate form work, etc.
- Experience preparing plans and reports related to construction survey projects, such as pile comparison reports, Volume reports, as-built reports.
