Women's Volleyball Head Coach

Reporting to the Director of Athletics and Recreation, the primary purpose of the Women’s Volleyball Head Coach is to provide leadership to the student-athletes and Women’s Volleyball program. This is achieved through the coaching, recruitment, retention and community relations duties required in organizing a competitive and successful team, while promoting academic success for the student-athletes.
Key accountabilities include leading a competitive program, promoting student-athlete academic success, maintaining an active recruiting plan, fundraising, promoting positive community relations, and utilizing instructional techniques to ensure successful delivery of coaching strategies.
The incumbent provides a wide range of services such as sport technical expertise, promotion, conflict resolution and guidance to student-athletes in an inclusive environment. The position requires knowledge and understanding of community, provincial, national and international trends in sport development activities and opportunities.

**Responsibilities**:
**Program Management**
- Develop and revise training material to maximize athletic and team performance through use of various instructional strategies to run practice sessions
- Recruit student-athletes
- Create a balanced training schedule that enables student-athletes to succeed academically.
- Support student-athletes at competitions locally, provincially and nationally
- Assess the mental and physical condition of student-athletes to ensure safety of the participants and provide a safe environment for volunteers, student-athletes and colleagues
- Understand and follow all department, institutional, conference, and national policies & procedures.
**Administration**
- Ensure student-athletes meet ACAC and CCAA eligibility requirements and complete all student athlete forms adhering to deadlines related to eligibility, scholarship, and department requests.
- Collection of Student-Athlete Information and documentation related to athletic therapy, medical, drug education, and personal information forms
- Track and administer scholarship offer letters within the parameters of the department policies.
- Select, hire, and train all program required support staff (assistant coaches, equipment managers, trainers)
- Participate in and coordinate team, department, and institution fundraising initiatives and manage team fundraising account
**Communications**
- Communicate department information with student-athletes and assistant coaches and fulfill all other sports information requests from the department
**Community Involvement**
- Develop and encourage participation in team community service initiatives.

**Education and Qualifications**:
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
- Coaching experience at the College, University, Junior, Provincial, National, or Professional level.
- The incumbent must hold a Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
- NCCP Level 2 Certification (or equivalent); willingnes
