Deep Cove Yacht Club is a non-profit organization situated on the waterfront in beautiful Deep Cove, Vancouver - BC

This role requires a blend of physical work, people skills, reporting, and the ability to work independently.

**Work Hours**
- 40-hours per week, regular days: Wednesday through Sunday
- Flexible days & hours required based on functions and club events booked throughout the year
- Flexibility required based on weather events and dock situations/emergencies

**Duties** **& Responsibilities**
- **Clubhouse**:_
- Uphold the security of the clubhouse and monitor parking to ensure its use by authorized members and guests only.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the interior and exterior clubhouse, including upkeep of the small garden area and plants on the property.
- Conduct regular inspections of the clubhouse facilities, such as structures, electrical, and heating, identifying and repairing where possible. Report any damage from functions/events and any maintenance needs.
- Play a role in arranging, interacting with, and signing-off work with approved sub contractors.
- Complete scheduled annual maintenance tasks.
- Complete regular supply inventory and ordering, pick up or receive orders, and deliveries as required.
- Prepare the clubhouse for functions & events as required: setting up furniture, reserving parking, ensuring supplies are stocked, and supporting Bar Staff as needed.
- Respond to emergency situations.
- Interface with the Operations Manager & House Manager weekly.
- **Docks**:_
- Ensure the safety and security of the docks through regular patrols. Identify & report any maintenance issues or potential hazards to the Rear Commodore of Docks.
- Secure any untied vessels, specifically prior to/during storms and report issues to the Dock Master.
- Contact RCD/Emergency callout in the event of emergency.
- Monitor dock access using video surveillance equipment.
- Manage the transient moorage requests and reciprocal club members following established guidelines.
- Interact with members and the public in a courteous and professional manner, addressing any concerns and resolving situations where possible.

You will be required to provide monthly reports to outline work activities, any issues, resolutions, and job sign-offs.

**Skills & Qualifications**
- Minimum of one year of experience in a security or facilities maintenance role
- Basic knowledge of boating and dock operations is an advantage
- Basic computer skills including excel, outlook and Google Drive
- Ability to work independently while also being an excellent team player
- Physically capable for manual work and heavy lifting as required
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Proficiency in English, both verbal and written
- A valid Drivers license with your own reliable vehicle

**Terms of Employment**
- A probationary period of three (3) months is required
- The on-site accommodation is provided ONLY AFTER the completion of the probation period and ongoing employment is agreed to by all parties
