Gradcorps: Assessor

The Yukon public service has a unique opportunity for recent graduates who have a post-secondary diploma or degree but lack real-world work experience. With GradCorps, you can kick-start your career while putting your passion, ideas and energy to work with the Yukon public service.

The Department of Community Services has a GradCorps opportunity for a Property Assessor. This intern will work with Assessors to determine values on a wide variety of property, buildings, machinery, land, equipment or other assets for the purpose of taxation.

This position will work for a one-year Term from approximately April 2024 to April 2025. The salary will be 80% of the starting salary - **$68,180**

**Essential Qualifications**

- Undergraduate degree in Statistics, Public Administration, Commerce, Business Administration, Economics, Urban Geography, Land Planning or other related field;
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite;
- Experience working with real estate and/or building construction would be an asset.

**Desired Knowledge, Skills and Suitability**
- Project management skills;
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite;
- Being detail-oriented and well organized;
- Strong oral and written communication skills; Self-motivation & working well independently.**Additional Information**

**_Conditions of Employment:_**_ _Class 5 Yukon Drivers’ License.

**_Job Requirements: _**Travel throughout Yukon required.**_NOTE: To qualify for the GradCorps program, you must:_**

- **_be a resident of Yukon or a person of Yukon First Nations ancestry*_**:

- **_have graduated with a diploma or degree from a recognized post-secondary institution within the past two years _**_(2022, 2023 or 2024 grads - all requirements for graduation must be complete before internship start date)_**:

- **_have little or no work experience in your field of study_**
