This role sits within the University’s Advancement team, reporting to the Associate Director - Development, and plays an essential role in identifying potential supporters for the University and providing essential data necessary to use in building effective relationships with those individuals and organizations.

Thoughtful, team-oriented, and motivated to succeed, the successful applicant will:

- Use critical thinking skills to undertake research of individuals, corporations and foundations to support the achievement of the portfolio’s strategic goals;
- Partner with Advancement and other university staff to build a robust, steadily increasing pool of prospects for fundraising priorities;
- Identify prospects with financial capacity of five to eight figure gifts;
- Create background profiles on prospects to support prospect qualification;
- Develop prospect, donor or volunteer briefing notes for internal and external audiences;
- Support donor stewardship engagement planning;
- Provide analytical reporting on donor and prospect data;
- Work with the development team to audit data inputs to maintain database accuracy;
- Meet requirements for data auditing and processes within pipeline management to assure data is accurate for forecasting and planning;
- Support a strong team ethos through positive, enthusiastic attitude, and working with colleagues to meet portfolio objectives;
- Ensure processes and policies are met, and support the development of other policies, as required;
- Have strong project management skills; and,
- Be flexible, creative, and proactive.

Position Requirements

**Position Requirements**
- Undergraduate degree, or similar credentials with 5 years’ experience;
- Education in data science, research, or business analyst credentials is preferred;
- 1-3 years’ experience in data and/or prospect management;
- Experience in a fundraising role with exposure to research aspects of a fundraising operation an asset;
- Expertise in research sources available to identify prospects and assess prospect financial and philanthropic capacity;
- Knowledge of producing prospect reports for internal and external stakeholders;
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop productive working relationships across a wide variety of individuals and groups;
- Strong critical thinking skills with an ability to use data to make decisions and translate strategy to action;
- Highly organized and able to track and manage multiple projects simultaneously, including ability to prioritize work projects and meet deadlines;
- Possess strong communication skills, both oral and written, with an ability to collaborate to meet common objectives, improve outcomes and support the work of UAC;
- Experience working in an academic institution an asset; and,
- Strong work ethic with the ability to achieve desired outcomes.

Physical Demands Pay Grade APT 3 Salary Range $58,524 - $79,004 Annually Status Permanent Work Hours

Monday - Friday, 8:15 am - 4:30 pm
