Overview:
This position of
**Milling Foreman** is primarily responsible overseeing the daily operations of asphalt milling and/or support detail/clean-up crews. This position will primarily perform supervisory duties, but on occasion, may assist with general labourer and equipment operation tasks, as needed.

**Responsibilities**:
**Responsibilities**:

- Coordinates daily work activities, job site organizations, reading of plans, etc.
- Supervises and schedules work crews.
- Organizes job site goals, timelines and budgets.
- Orders required supplies and materials.
- Assists with heavy equipment operation, if trained, as needed at job site locations.
- Directs the activities of workers engaged in milling of parking lots and streets.
- Ensures compliance to safety, environmental and company policies.
- Ensures proper training and development of team members.
- Ensures required field logs are completed in a timely manner.
- Coordinates schedule with Project Superintendents.
- Has an understanding of grades, and ensures proper drainage when milling is complete.
- Maintains company policy.
- Ensures the safety of crew members and the public who may interact with the job.

**Relationships with others on the job**:
Collaborates closely with the production plants, and outside vendors providing material, equipment, etc.

- Ensures alignment of H&S activities arising from H&S missions and objectives.
- Actively manages risks by ensuring that all related control activities are thoroughly implemented.
- Drives committed and effective incident management through active participation in incident review, investigation, and corrective action creation.

Qualifications:
**Required**
**Education**: High school diploma or equivalent

**Required Work Experience**:
***
- Typically, not an entry-level job, as it requires demonstrable previous experience as a Milling Foreman.
- Minimum of three (3) years of related experience, with an emphasis on asphalt and paving.
- Valid Drivers License.
- Must know grades and be able to ensure projects have proper drainage when milling is complete.

**Travel Requirements**: Local travel throughout the GVA

**Additional Requirements**: Ability to work independently and to manage multiple projects at the same time.

Strong organizational skills, ability to handle multiple tasks.

Strong communication, training and presentation skills. Ability to work and to contribute to a dynamic team environment.
