Description: The Licensed Practical Nurse - Operating Room Technician (LPN-ORT) works as a member of the multidisciplinary health care team, collaborating on the delivery of holistic, comprehensive care and support to patients/residents and families. The LPN-ORT works to the full scope of practice in providing safe, quality care in accordance with established standards, and the Mission, Vision, Values, policies and procedures of Covenant Health. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the AUPE Auxiliary Nursing Collective Agreement.

**Required Qualifications**:
Required Qualifications: Graduate of a Practical Nursing program or recognized equivalent required. Active registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA) required. Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required.

**Additional Required Qualifications**:
Active registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA) reflecting perioperative specialization required. Graduate of a Perioperative Nursing program for LPN's required. Three months of recent Operating Room experience required within the past two years. Ability to perform consistently in a highly organized and rapid moving environment. Ability to collaborate within the expectations of an integrated team. Ability to stand scrubbed for many hours and to meet the physical demands of the position. Ability to demonstrate communications skills that promote respect and a positive team environment. Demonstrates advanced problem-solving skills integrating critical thinking and good judgment. Incumbent should have effective interpersonal and written communication skills.
