Janitor/cleaner

**Shifts**:Days (Monday to Friday: 6:30am - 3:00pm)

**Job Type**: Permanent Full-time

**Probation Wage**: $19.50

**Probation Completion Wage**: $19.93

**One Year Wage**: $21.17

*Pay ranges are dependent on shift and experience

**KEY Responsibilities**:

- Ensure there are waste and metal scrap containers in each department
- Empty waste, recycle and metal scrap bins into designated bins daily
- Sweep isles, stairs, and shop floor everyday
- Mop floor when needed
- Use floor sweeper where needed
- Clean and dust walls, handrails and machine guards as per schedule or when needed
- Shovel snow and spread salt in front of main and employee doors
- Change water bottles in water coolers in plant
- Clean daily the eye wash stations in the plant
- Use snow blower when needed
- Clean washrooms when needed
- Do minor repairs when needed
- Order cleaning supplies through purchasing
- Distribute Weber and other supplies throughout plant
- Organize and dispose of broken skids
- Call to organize bin pick up
- Wash outside windows on lower level
- Set up and take down of tables and chairs for social and other events
- Use magnetic sweeper in parking lot to pick up screws, nails and other metal
- Back up for Office Cleaner
- Ask for help from Lead Hands, and inform the Maintenance Manager, Shift Supervisor, or Production Manager when there is a safety concern
- Perform other duties as required

**Skills & Experience**:

- Grade 10 education
- Must be organized
- Attention to detail
- Familiarity with WHMIS/GHS
- Ability to handle cleaning equipment and tools
- Physically fit for heavy lifting of >35 lbs
