**Position Overview**:
The Jig and Fixture Maker will be able to interpret complex drawings and assist where required in the tool design process for complex jig, fixtures and tools.

This position will report to the IMP Aerospace and Defence location near the Halifax International Airport.

**What You Will Do**:

- Performs all tasks of the Toolmaker and Machinist trades.
- Manufactures jigs, fixtures and complicated tools for the manufacture of detail parts and assemblies under minimum supervision with assistance of production drawings, technical manuals and tool designs.
- Carries out all tests/inspections/agreements on tools, jigs and fixtures and evaluates the results.
- Sets up jigs and fixtures for production use, utilizing mechanical and optical alignment equipment, to required specifications and drawing tolerances.
- Lays out complex designs using shop measuring instruments.
- Provides on-job-training to other members of the Jig and Fixture Maker, Toolmaker and Machinist trades.
- Removes all debris accumulated by task(s) performed and maintains a clean, safe work environment.
- Performs other tasks as required within his/her trade.
- Use Laser Alignment gear to level Jigs, Fixtures and Aircraft.
- Attends upgrading training for trade or personal development.

**What You Will Bring**:

- Entrants to this classification will be qualified Jig and Fixture Makers or fully qualified Tool Makers with a minimum of 5 years experience as a Tool Maker.
- Must be knowledgeable in manufacturing and assembly processes and procedures.
- Demonstrate a personal commitment to IMP Occupational Health, Safety and Environment policies. Continually focusing on your individual safety and the safety of others who may be affected by your work and to fully comply with all Federal Health and Safety Legislation.
- Participate in Continuous Improvement, Lean & 5S activities in your area.
- Must be eligible to meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Secret Level II Security Clearance through PSPC- Contract Security Program, Transport Canada RAIC clearance.
