A private licensed childcare centre near the Beaches is seeking an amazing, warm and caring Classroom Support Staff and Evening Cleaner to start anytime in January or February. The position will have typical hours of **12:30pm - 7:30pm** but will change as required. The position will assist in managing the day to day programming for the hours they are scheduled for. This position is primarily responsible for coverage duties while rotating around all of our classrooms and providing support/coverage as need such as lunches, sick or vacation coverage and **evening cleaning of all classrooms**. Additional duties include, but are not limited to the following:

- Managing the daily operations of the centre in compliance with the policies and regulations of the Child Care and Early Years Act
- Must have accurate knowledge of all allergies and food intolerances of children and staff
- Providing ongoing supervision of playroom, playground, group, individual and routine activities
- Maintaining a safe and healthy environment by performing periodic safety checks of equipment, facilities and identifies children who are unwell
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with parents through open communication by daily written charts, daily interactions, formal parent interviews and parent information sessions
- Performing other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Director
- Maintaining a high standard of a safe, healthy, and caring environment for the children and staff
- Ensuring Emergent curriculum implementation and program delivery
- Maintaining a very clean and tidy environment when active play is not engaged
- Above average ability to work independently, multi-task, time management, and organizational skills ‪
- Anticipating, responsive and responsible to address issues and concerns at work ‪
- Flexible, patient, professional, prompt and reliable attendance at work ‪
- Creative, enthusiastic, neat and appropriate personal appearance and attire
- Daily evening cleaning of the entire centre

Requirements and Skills:

- Minimum of 1 year working in a licensed child care setting or equivalent is preferred
- Strong relationship development skills with the ability to build and maintain good rapport with families and the community
- Sound judgment and decision making skills with the ability to effectively administer/reinforce policies as appropriate
- Problem solving skills with the ability to analyze and diagnose issues and reach solutions with limited assistance
- Proficient in the English language with speaking, reading and writing
- Ability to work in stressful situations and adapt quickly to changing environment.
- Some cleaning experience is an asset but not required.

**Salary**: $17.50 - $18.50 per hour inclusive of the Wage Enhancement Grant.
