Ulterra's has an immediate opening for a **Human Resource Coordinator**

**Job Summary**:
The Human Resources Coordinator will provide assistance to the HR and Payroll team in support of Ulterra’s Canadian employees. This position will be located in Leduc, Alberta at Ulterra’s Manufacturing facility. The HR Coordinator will be responsible for the entry and maintenance of Ulterra’s personnel information throughout the employee’s life cycle, along with audit and reporting for payroll purposes.

**Human Resource Job Responsibilities**:

- Assists with the talent acquisition and recruitment process for manufacturing, field sales, and corporate staff by authorizing background, drug, and physical fitness tests, and monitors and tracks the pre-employment screen process.
- Assists in conducting new hire orientation/on-boarding for exempt and non-exempt staff; follows up with employees to ensure enrollment in elected benefits.
- Assist with the administration of corporate benefit plan, and employee/er provided pension and RRSP plans.
- Responsible for data entry and data maintenance in the Human Resource Information System (HRIS) database, such as entering new employee information.
- Creates and maintains electronic employee files and records, as well as employee medical files.
- Performs other clerical functions and other job duties as assigned or required.

**Payroll Job Responsibilities**:

- Assists the Payroll department with timekeeping and reporting processes for all exempt and non-exempt staff.
- Reporting of payroll related changes, such as missed time punches, hours of work, and payroll discrepancies for bi-weekly payroll.
- Auditing payroll reports and paid time off (PTO) entries/balances.
- Annual payroll processing and reporting.
- Validation and filing of T4 information.

**Job Requirements**

**Education/Experience**:

- High School diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED) with a minimum of 3 years of Human Resources Coordinator/Payroll Administrator experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Human Resources.
- Payroll Certification, such as Payroll Compliance Practitioner or equivalent is considered an asset.

**Other Qualifications**:

- Intermediate experience with Microsoft systems (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- High ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion in business relationships and exercise sound business judgment
- Ability to work independently and appropriately prioritize work while displaying exceptional attention to detail
- Detail-oriented
- Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with all employees, while conveying a positive, customer service-oriented attitude
- Strong reading comprehension, writing and oral communication skills
- Ability to learn quickly, and adapt and work in a fast-paced environment (industry is 24/7)
- Professional demeanor and telephone etiquette
- Understanding of basic Canadian human resources and payroll compliance policies/regulations
- Displays a positive attitude with the ability to work in a team environment
- Experience with HRIS systems to include data entry and maintenance is an asset
