Respite Worker

Bluewater Respite is a private owned business that provides in-home supports, out of home respite care for children, youth and adults with special needs and mental health. Currently we are adding members to our team in London, St.Thomas and Elgin areas.

This position is an Independent Contract and requires the ability to support clients who have a wide range of developmental and emotional needs.

Applicants require experience or background in working with Developmental Disabilities, Dual-Diagnosis, Spectrum Disorder and Mental Health. All applicants must demonstrate the ability to work as part of a team, the ability to intervene in crisis situations and communicate successfully with clients and families. Experience with challenging behaviours, and aggression are a must. Worker needs to be flexible and adaptable in this working environment.

**This position requires-**

**Evening and weekend availability**

**Experience with clients demonstrating aggression**

Applicants must possess the following
- Post Graduate Degree, such as Developmental Service Worker or Child and Youth Worker

Experience with children, youth and/or adults with special needs.

Knowledge and/or experience with mental health challenges

Commitment to providing quality of life experiences in home and in the community.

First Aid and CPR

Must possess certification in CPI or willing to complete this training

Access to a vehicle, appropriate insurance, and a G license

Drivers Abstract

Must provide a criminal reference check and vulnerable sector check

Part-time hours: 22 per week

**Salary**: $28.00-$35.00 per hour

- 4 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Weekends as needed

- DCS / DEC (required)

Licence/Certification:

- Class G Licence (required)
