The purpose-driven work you’ll be part of

As a Police Constable, you will have different experiences every day, you will play an essential role in keeping our community a safe place to live, work and play in. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- You will work within our community, providing a visible presence to reassure and deter crime.
- You will conduct patrol duties on foot, by car, by bicycle and even by boat.
- You will build and improve relationships in the community to identify individuals and locations at risk of being involved in crime.
- You will respond to a variety of emergency situations, attend accidents, and keep the peace at community events.
- You will conduct full investigations; including taking statements, interviewing suspects, writing search warrants, and gathering other evidence.
- You will prepare reports to Crown Counsel, arrest suspects and testify in court.
- You will ensure that there is sufficient evidence or legal authority to take action.
- You will use de-escalation communication techniques when appropriate or use the necessary level of force when needed to stop an individual from harming themselves or others.
- You will take into account the health and safety of yourself and others when deciding on a course of action.
- You will work collaboratively as part of a team and support your team members.

- Our Constable salary ranges from $83,777 to $111,703 depending on your years of service and on-going education qualifications.
