**Duties**:
Key Responsibilities:
Perform Ultrasound Examinations: Conduct diagnostic ultrasound procedures, including abdominal, obstetric and gynecological, vascular, and cardiac sonography, depending on specialty and qualifications.
Patient Preparation and Care: Prepare patients for ultrasound procedures by explaining the process, answering questions, and ensuring comfort. Obtain and record the patient's medical history and reason for the procedure.
Image Capture and Analysis: Capture clear, accurate images that meet the required diagnostic criteria. Evaluate the quality of images to ensure they are suitable for interpretation by a radiologist or referring physician.
Documentation and Reporting: Document procedures performed, ensure proper labeling and archiving of images, and provide preliminary analysis and technical impressions to the interpreting physician.
Maintain and Operate Equipment: Calibrate, maintain, and clean ultrasound equipment regularly to ensure its optimal performance. Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and report any issues to the appropriate personnel.
Collaborate with Healthcare Team: Work closely with radiologists, cardiologists, obstetricians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care and accurate diagnostic results.
Adhere to Safety and Quality Standards: Follow safety guidelines to protect patients and staff from unnecessary exposure to ultrasound energy and maintain compliance with regulatory standards and facility protocols.
Professional Development: Stay current with advancements in ultrasound technology, techniques, and best practices through continuing education, training sessions, and certification renewal.
