**Third Cook - Narrows Bistro Line**

The DoubleTree by Hilton Halifax Dartmouth is currently recruiting for an experienced and talented line cook to join our Narrows Bistro team.

**Evening and weekend availability is required.**

One to two years of experience as a line cook, restaurant cook, or prep cook is preferred.

Strong understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures.

Must be a team player who is able to consistently and effectively communicate with their team in a fast paced environment.

**Duties include but are not limited to**:
Stock inventory appropriately

Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion

Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards

Pre-service prep

Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks

Follow recipes and presentation specifications

Preparing a high volume of meals to standard and on time

Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances

Operate and maintain the kitchen in a safe and orderly manner at all times

Follow all health and safety standards, adhering to all sanitation and food safe protocols

Go above and beyond to “WOW” our guests with empowerment to address guest dissatisfaction

Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers

Restock and presentably maintain supplies and equipment

Be able to frequently lift and carry food, beverage and other items greater than 50 pounds,

Must have own set of knives

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 24-32 per week

**Salary**: $15.86-$17.33 per hour

**Experience**:

- cooking: 1 year (preferred)
