**Job Summary**

The Buyer is responsible for ensuring production has the necessary supplies needed to complete production schedules in a timely manner. The Buyer is also responsible for maintaining partnerships with suppliers and negotiating contracts with those suppliers. Main

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Review raw material planning reports for assigned supply category and determine if orders need to be placed or existing orders adjusted for supplies
- Make necessary adjustments to systems to gain appropriate approvals and sent off to suppliers.
- Monitor inventory levels and adjust as necessary in order to make sure we have the right amount of inventory on hand, or on order, to meet production needs.
- Resolve invoicing issues.
- Partner with Research and Development with the sourcing of new supplies and/or new ingredients as needed.
- Review inventory positions and production plans of assigned categories.
- Make recommendations to the suppliers concerning order placement and/or order adjustments.
- Provide forecasts to the suppliers weekly.
- Provide documents/information to the quality department.
- Actively participate in the Commercialization Process.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must have experience with various protein Quota
- Must have experience with exporting/importing of proteins

**Protein Buyer Requirements**:

- Diploma supply chain management, business management, or related field is preferred.
- Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) accreditation or other relevant certification is advantageous.
- Proven experience working as a production planner.
- Sound knowledge of material requirements planning (MRP) and related software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication skills.

- Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
- Strong and effective leadership skills, and the ability to successfully manage a staff of 8+ employees
- Concise and coherent reporting
- Strong logic and math skills
- Ability to adapt positively to change and stressful situations

**Experience**:

- purchasing: 1 year (preferred)
