Boom Truck Operator

Pioneer Construction is looking for a hard-working, self-motivated employee with a proven record of safety and reliability to fill the position of Boom Truck Operator in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. This is a full-time seasonal position available with a pension and benefits package through Operating Engineers 793, and is suitable for someone looking to explore a rewarding career in the construction industry.
**JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Operate boom truck crane to lift, move, position or place equipment and materials
- Perform various rigging procedures
- Perform pre-operational inspection and calculate crane capacities and weight to prepare for rigging and hoisting (tarping, strapping, load calculations, etc.)
- Ensure safe and timely deliveries and pick-ups of materials
- Display professionalism toward our company and customers
- Must maintain a clean and tidy work environment and equipment
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures: safety standards operations, maintenance, training, cleanliness standards, etc.
- Follow all Highway Traffic Act Regulations
- Document Hours of Service through means of ELD
- Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor
The Boom Truck operator will be offered other duties such as driving or equipment operating to ensure full days and full weeks.
**JOB QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Education**:
- Certified 339C Hoisting Engineer
- DZ Licence is required
- Clean Drivers Abstract
**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
- Ability to work out of town when required
- Ability to adapt to last-minute changes as dictated by the needs of our customers.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
- Abide by all Company policies including, but not limited to the following: Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental, Human Resources policies
