As a Registered Dietitian you will be responsible for the nutritional management of adult patients in the Bariatric Program at University Hospital. This position reports to Manager of Clinical Nutrition Practice for professional practice and administrative issues and to the Program Manager for program specific issues.

Primary responsibilities include nutritional assessment and nutritional management of patients in the bariatric program as well as leading individual nutrition counseling and group nutrition education sessions. To provide these services, the successful incumbent will collaborate with other health care providers and function as a key member of interdisciplinary team.

Regular Part-Time

Rate of Pay: $39.16 per hour - $48.95 per hour

Hours: 18.75 hours per week

**Qualifications**:

- Registration with the College of Dietitians of Ontario
- Membership in Dietitians of Canada preferred
- Recent related clinical experience in bariatric nutrition care, nutrition counseling and group education.
- Certified Bariatric Educator (CBE) preferred.
- Demonstrated skills in patient education and ability to support the advancement of dietetic practice-based research and knowledge
- Ability to promote a high standard of professional practice by disseminating nutrition knowledge and information
- Commitment to ongoing education and professional development related to best practice in clinical nutrition
- Proficient computer skills including word processing and data management software
- Ability to recognize own feelings, express them fully and constructively manage own feelings in challenging and emotionally charged situations
- Ability to express ideas clearly, confidently and directly and work through conflicts and differences in a respectful way
- Ability to stay effective and resilient when dealing with adverse circumstances and multiple demands
- Ability to demonstrate an optimistic disposition toward new experiences and change in general
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC’s Mission, Vision and Values
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis

Immunization Requirements:

- Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, Tetanus/ Diphtheria/Polio; Meningitis.
- Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing (two step) and COVID vaccine series.
