Early Childhood Assistant

Toronto, Canada Sunnyside Daycare Full time

Responsibilities:

- Create and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities for children in the classroom
- Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow
- Foster social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development in young children
- Maintain open and effective communication with parents/guardians regarding their child's progress
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to create a positive learning environment
- Monitor and ensure the safety of all children in the classroom
- Keep accurate records of each child's progress and development

Qualifications:

- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent;
- Previous experience working with children in a caregiving or educational setting
- Knowledge of early childhood development principles and best practices
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Patience, compassion, and a genuine love for working with young children

**Skills**:

- Classroom management: Ability to create a structured and engaging learning environment for children
- Experience with children: Previous experience working with young children, understanding their needs and behaviors
- Caregiving: Ability to provide nurturing care to children, ensuring their safety, health, and well-being
- Early childhood education: Knowledge of early childhood development theories, practices, and curriculum
