**Power Line Technician**

Minimum 6 months - Full-Time with good possibility of permanent position.

Location of work: Western Canada, mainly Alberta, based in Edmonton area

$53 - 55.50 per hour plus holiday pay / 40 hours per week / 10 hours per day plus occasional weekends. Paid weekly.

**About the job**

We are currently seeking to hire two Journeyman Power Line Technicians for high voltage projects across Western Canada. The successful incumbent will report to the Manager and be responsible to execute all daily activities.

**Requirements**:

- Inspect, test and maintain limits of approach and be comfortable around energized lines and sub-stations (240kV).
- Perform water washing and corn cleaning on contaminated live apparatus.
- Ensuring projects are executed in compliance with specifications, schedules, safety and quality requirements and standards.
- Support implementation of safety policies and procedures.
- Empower sub-contractors to be knowledgeable of company’s safety, construction and quality policies and procedures; and uphold them.
- Support internal and external audit and inspection activities.
- Equipment maintenance and scheduling as required

Position is field based and must be able to accommodate schedule based on site-specific project schedules. **Is punctual and able to work with or without supervision.Physical Requirements**:

- **Required to work under pressure, with physical requirements of dexterity, bending, crouching, and kneeling.**:

- Able to work in inclement weather
- Must not be afraid of heights, climbing is required.
- Is capable of lifting 50lbs.

Qualification Requirements:

- 5+ years powerline experience
- Journeyman Lineman with Red Seal designation.
- Valid class 1A or Class 3A driver’s license with an acceptable driving record, driver’s abstract required (Preference will be given to a class 1A driver)
- Clean Drivers Abstract
- Adequate computer, communication, and written skills

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6-18 months
