Conference Porter

The Conference Porter's responsibility is to welcome guests and to oversee the operations of meetings and events. The conference porter plays a crucial behind-the-scenes role in ensuring that meetings and events run smoothly and that attendees have a positive experience.

**YOUR ROLE**
- Become fully conversant with all aspects of the conference & banquet department. This includes; conference standards, function sheet translation, room set ups, conference service, banqueting service, and conference & banqueting preparation.
- Read and execute the function sheet.
- Set up the meeting rooms including arranging chairs, tables, audiovisual etc.
- Welcome guests and assist them as need be throughout the duration of the event.
- Be a contact person for the event organizer.
- Anticipate needs and solve unexpected issues or problems such as technical difficulties or quick fixes to the event setup.
- Ensure all equipment and rooms are set up and prepared according to the hotel standards.
- Set up and serve all food and beverages for the events such as breaks, lunch, dinner, etc.
- Perform related maintenance/cleaning of equipment.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of service areas.
- Ensure all equipment is stored in the correct manner, in line with all food and beverage/conference and banqueting requirements and health & safety legislation.
- Adhere to all liquor laws and regulations.

**YOUR PROFILE**
- Previous server experience, an asset
- Organized, problem solver and able to work under pressure
- Professional, enthusiastic and energetic
- Able to lift up to 50 lb, reach, bend, push and stoop
- Must be able to stay in an upright position for long periods of time
