Winder Operator

**Job description**

**Essential Functions**:
Responsible for placing tubes on mandrel and cutting them to a specific length, removing, and placing into box.

Communicate with packers-inspectors, keeping him/her abreast of quality concerns, equipment issues and material counts.

3. Ability to work proficiently under deadlines.

Perform periodic quality checks to ensure compliance to specifications and/or COAs.

Maintain good housekeeping online by sweeping work area, clearing waste/debris and cleaning dust and/or glue from the saw.

Strong leadership and the ability to take initiative.

Proficiency in conversion of fractions to decimals.

Adhere to specific quality standards to ensure customer satisfaction.

Ability to read various measurement equipment including tape measures, calipers and micrometers.

Ability to read and interpret work orders to understand machine setup requirements.

Prepare mandrels and saws and make adjustments as necessary for each work order using hand tools.

12. Capable of performing other duties assigned by management as required.

Lifting up to 50 pounds.

Visually inspecting products and employees.

Communicating with employees and management.

Stooping, bending, and moving about plant for up to 12 hours per day.

**Job Qualifications and Skills**:
1. Effective problem solving and team building skills.

Dependability: Little/no unscheduled absences, ability to work overtime as required.

At least six months experience in paper tube manufacturing.

Prior experience with high speed production equipment, saw or winding machine preferred.

Ability to read tape measure, calipers and other measuring tools.

Pay: From $24.96 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
