Job Title: Rebar Leadhand

Job Summary: The Rebar Leadhand is responsible for fabricating and installing steel reinforcement bars (rebar) in various construction projects. The role involves interpreting project drawings and specifications, using a variety of tools and equipment to shape, cut, and bend rebar to the required dimensions, and placing rebar within concrete structures to provide the necessary strength and support.

Key Responsibilities:

- Read and interpret drawings, detail sheets and specifications to determine rebar needs and dimensions.
- Use a variety of tools and equipment, such as rebar cutters, benders, and tying machines, to shape and fabricate rebar.
- Install rebar by tying or welding it together, using appropriate safety measures and guidelines.
- Ensure rebar is correctly placed and secured in concrete forms according to project specifications and design plans.
- Inspect and evaluate rebar for defects or damage before, during, and after installation.
- Collaborate with construction teams to ensure proper installation and placement of rebar, coordinating with other trades as needed.
- Follow safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe work environment for oneself and others.

**Requirements**:

- High school diploma or equivalent, supplemented by vocational or technical training in rebar fabrication and installation.
- At least 2-5 years of experience in rebar installation, preferably on construction sites.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting drawings and detail sheets.
- Familiar with rebar fabrication techniques and equipment, including rebar cutters, benders, and tying machines.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations, with the ability to work safely in hazardous conditions.
- Ability to work collaboratively with construction teams and other tradespeople.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
