Underwriting Effectiveness Analyst

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Conduct underwriting effectiveness audits for the AIIDAC Personal Lines Broker and Corporate Partner (CP) business and assist in development of a robust underwriting effectiveness framework.
- Manage relationships with primary stakeholders when conducting audits, including Business Development Managers, Brokers, Pricing and Product teams.
- Produce professional audit reports detailing key audit findings and follow up actions (Daily, Weekly, Monthly)
- Assist in the preparation and collation of monthly governance reports for senior management.
- Initiate efficiencies within the team helping to streamline work and create additional capacity whilst maintaining standards.
- Gain experience working across other areas of the team with both risk and compliance exposure.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Ideally work experience within Insurance, Financial Services or Broker industry.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point etc).
- Work experience across risk, compliance, QA, or underwriting will be an advantage.
- Insurance qualifications such as CIP, APA, or working towards.
- Strong knowledge of quality assurance processes, how they are applied and the benefits they can bring to the business.
- Ability to effectively manage stakeholder relationships both internally and externally (Brokers and Corporate Partners).
- Good communication both written and verbal together with effective influencing skills.
- Strong attention to detail with good working knowledge of underwriting and compliance requirements.
- A positive attitude towards change, and continuous development. Can-do mindset and a willingness to identify improvements to process.
KPIs
- Being recognised as a QA expert by local functions and Group.
- Produce quality metrics and analysis to enable the business to deliver a robust governance model.
- Support of Agile ways of working, adopting an Agile aligned approach to risk and control where required.
- Delivery and use of cross-market working practices to minimise cost and maximise use of Aviva’s available resources.
