In collaboration with the Registered Nurse, the
**LPN** performs a wide variety of resident care functions within the scope of practice, code of ethics, and governing legislation. The LPN provides a leadership and supervisory role to the Continuing Care Attendant/Personal Care Worker.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assisting clients with various personal care activities
- Use of lifts and slings to transfer patients with a movement disorder
- Administration of medication
- Nighttime monitoring and assistance
- Light housekeeping (Laundry, washing dishes, sweeping and wiping of surfaces)
- Basic food prep of a blenderized feed for the clients
- Outings in the community
- Facilitation of community inclusion activities

**Core Requirements**:

- Current Licensed (or eligible for license) with the Nova Scotia College of Nurses

**Responsibilities**:

- Assisting clients with various personal care activities (e.g., bathing, dressing, grooming).
- Perform light housekeeping duties.
- Assist clients with meals and between meal refreshments.
- Provide respite for families and care givers.
- Documentation (e.g., reporting client concerns, progress notes, incident reports).
- Engage residents/families in leisure/recreational programs.

**Core Requirements**:

- Provincial Continuing Care Assistant Certification
- Persons with related education and/or work experience and are enrolled in or are eligible to be enrolled in CCA RPL Program
- Students in nursing, CCA programs, and international educated nurses will be considered.
