**The Opportunity**:
The **Prep Cook** role will be serving the **Athens Creek Retirement Lodge in Penticton, British Columbia. **This role is responsible for ensuring top resident care is priority, with an elevated level of focus in time management and hospitality.

- A strong personal commitment to Person Directed Care approaches. Current familiarity with the Eden Alternative Philosophy and the Domains of Well-Being is preferred
- Strives to attain excellence in Resident, family member and employee care partner satisfaction
- Friendly with a sense of humor and the utmost respect for all persons
- Knowledge of supportive living services, assessment, and care planning
- Maintains ongoing compliance with appropriate local, provincial, and federal regulatory standards
- Demonstrates strength in building partnerships with Residents, family members, employee care partners, volunteers, external care partners and the community at large to ensure the vibrancy of our community
- Flexible, willingness to prioritize and adjust routines
- Strong time management skills
- Supporting the Food Services Supervisor in supervising/managing the activities of the food services team and facilitating effective two-way communication
- Excellent problem solving and conflict resolution skills, and ability to effectively deal crisis situations
- Awareness for accident and injury prevention and adheres to safe work practices
- Auditing and collecting ongoing resident/family feedback. Including but not limited to the Resident Food Services committee
- Assisting in identifying and addressing needs within the Community
- Actively participating on various committees/meetings providing advice/ input
- Performs other services/tasks/duties related to employee care partner role as assigned

**Skills and key deliverables that will take you further**:

- Grade 12 Diploma or recognized equivalent is required
- Food Safe Certificate
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR Certificate
