**General Accountability**:

- Directs, negotiates and controls all phases of construction. Acts as the prime point of contact for TTC Operations, contractors, utility companies, public agencies and municipalities, for all aspects of the construction project.**Key Job Functions**:

- Direct, negotiate, and control all phases of construction. Manage the day-to-day on-site activities of the construction management team.
- Oversee the performance of contractor(s) for assigned multi-discipline construction contracts. Inspect the work for general conformance with the Contract Documents.
- Ensure on-site safety, security, and quality control.
- Provide assistance in the evaluation/negotiation/resolution of contract changes and contractor’s claims.
- Review and approve the contractor’s schedule and updates with participation from the project team members as required.
- Prepare and maintain various reports/documents including construction progress and status reports, Certificates of Substantial Performance and Completion.
- Liaise and coordinate with staff, consultants, contractors, municipalities, public/regulatory agencies, and other external stakeholders as required.
- Promotes a respectful work and service environment that supports diversity, inclusion, and is free from harassment and discrimination. Provides leadership in the development and implementation of inclusive and accessible policies, programs and/or services for employees and customers in accordance with TTC's commitments and obligations under the Ontario Human Rights Code (OHRC) and Related Orders, the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), and TTC's policies.
- Participation in the TTC Customer Service Ambassador Program.

**Education and Experience**:

- Completion of a post-secondary college diploma or university degree in a related discipline (e.g. Construction, Engineering), and progressively senior experience in the management of medium to heavy multidisciplinary construction projects in an urban environment, or a combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent.**Additional Requirements**:

- A comprehensive knowledge of construction management practices and principles including familiarity with construction law, contract administration, and claims management.
- Demonstrated experience in construction inspection, administration, documentation and management of a multidisciplinary field staff.
- Ability to deal with complex issues and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of management.
