Come grow with us...North American Stamping is expanding and looking to hire. We are looking for a Junior Buyer to join our Team in Woodstock ON. As Junior Buyer you will be responsible for all commercial aspects of supply chain management, including but not limited to; identify, and validate suppliers in accordance with NASG Supplier Quality Manual requirements.

**The position duties will include; but are not limited to**:

- Sourcing lead for components of various commodities from a global supply base.
- Seeks out and engage new vendors to support the procurement of new materials and assemblies.
- Develop, track, and report KPIs for key supplier activities to ensure adherence.
- Support cross-functional project teams to provide procurement input for key milestones.
- Develop relationships through strong communication and negotiation skills with internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop cost reduction exercises through:

- Elimination of waste in value stream
- Effective supplier negotiations
- Purchase price variance opportunities
- Routinely prepare and evaluate RFQ packages for purchasing requirements.
- Maintain understanding of influencing factors within our industry.
- Suggest / implement approved cost savings ideas.
- Maintain purchase orders for outside processors.
- Purchase components for all manufacturing processes.
- Obtain quotes and procure new launch material & quotes.
- Purchase Raw Material / Components to not exceed inventory targets.
- Conduct "Spot-buys" when supplier cannot meet requirements.
- Reconcile Raw Material Inventory to Theoretical Inventory (cycle counts required to uncover root cause for adjustments)
- Reconcile Raw Material Inventory to QA Hold Inventory and return material.
- Evaluate steel availability per the Master Schedule
- Assist with and backup for Receiving
- Assist in Preparing for Daily Production Meeting
- Track Supplier Performance (Corrective Actions where applicable)
- Assist with maintaining Raw Material Specification Sheets for all Parts.
- PPAP Parts / Engineering Support with Purchasing

Qualifications we are looking for include, but are not limited to:

- Prior experience with multi-site responsibility in a manufacturing setting preferred.
- NAPM (A.P.P. C.P.M.) or APICS (CPIM, CIRM) certification preferred.
- Automotive Purchasing preferred.
- Experience at an OEM and/or Tier I/II supplier to automaker helpful.
- Purchasing of steel coil, tube and wire, cold heading is helpful.
- Working knowledge of materials market indices.
- Working knowledge of the KANBAN production system and JIT system.
- Strong supplier negotiation skills.
- Strong knowledge of influencing factors which drive cost.
- Will possess the organizational skills necessary to maintain company records in compliance with the Materials Department and IATF-16949 systems.
- Must be able to work with all levels of company management as well as customers and vendors.

(e.g., MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook, Internet, etc.).
- Working knowledge and experience with ERP/MRP software.
- Production & inventory control education or experience.
- 5+ years "hands-on" experience in manufacturing setting with a proven track record of delivering results.
