Veterinary Assistant

**Heart Lake Veterinary Hospital is currently seeking an experienced full time Veterinary Assistant to join our dedicated team in Brampton, Ontario.**

**Responsibilities**:

- Assisting veterinarians and technicians during consultations, procedures, surgery and dentistry
- Animal care, monitoring, handling and restraint
- Client care and communication including answering the phone
- Performing in-house laboratory tests
- Sterilizing equipment and regularly cleaning examination areas, kennels, general house-keeping duties
- Invoicing and billing, creating and explaining estimates with confidence, obtaining pet owner consent and collecting payments
- Have the ability to meet the physical requirements of the position as well as lift 20 kg

**Schedule**:

- Monday to Friday
- Morning shift (8am - 5pm, with 1 hour unpaid lunch break)
- Evening shift (10am - 7pm, with 1 hour unpaid lunch break)
- Closed on weekends

**Work Location**: One location, 670 Wanless Drive Brampton ON, on-site parking
