**Position Summary**

Reporting to the Associate Dean, Applied Science, Computing and Technology, the Bioscience Lab Technician provides chemical and equipment preparation, set-up and clean-up for lab classes and maintenance of equipment and safety protocols. This position assists the faculty and students in enabling smooth delivery and performance and labs.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Ensures that all chemicals and supplies are prepared for upcoming labs
- Ensures that all lab materials are available when required as scheduled during lab periods and are put away, leaving lab spaces clean and orderly
- Assists the delivery of labs alongside faculty and ensures that labs run smoothly and safely as possible while students perform practical lab activities
- Maintains, and trouble shoots instrumentation/equipment
- Adheres to safety and security rules and regulations set by the College Policies and Procedures, WHMIS, and other relevant agencies
- Other duties as assigned

**Qualifications**
- A three (3) year diploma in Bioscience, Chemical or Environmental Technology
- Minimum one (1) years recent experience providing lab support
- Knowledgeable of a safe work environment in a laboratory setting and worker responsibilities under WHMIS
- Certification in First Aid/CPR preferred
- Superior oral and written communications along with the ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise tact, diplomacy and good judgement
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting
