Bilingual Legal and Compliance Counsel

**Who you are**
**In this role, you will be responsible for**
- Supporting cross-functional departments as they turn regulatory challenges into opportunities.
- Providing support to help the company grow sustainably, and ethically.
- Reviewing provincial standards, bylaws, and legislation, from coast to coast, to advise a broad range of stakeholders on regulatory matters and pertinent legal issues.
- Helping dental professionals avoid and respond to informal and formal regulatory complaints, drafting releases and assisting with other correspondence.
- Identifying and actively managing claims to prevent lawsuits and minimize liability.
- Working closely with our Marketing department, to ensure compliance with all applicable advertising regulations.
- Liaising with external regulatory and governmental bodies to ensure ongoing compliance in a shifting regulatory landscape.
- Coordinating with our network of dental practices to ensure that day to day business activities adhere to Dentalcorp’s compliance program and local standards.
**What We're Looking For**
- A member in good standing of the Law Society of Ontario or Québec, with a university degree in law (LLB or JD) and a License to practice law in Ontario or Québec.
- Must be fluently bilingual in French and English
- 1+ years’ experience as a Lawyer in a regulatory body, multi-location corporation and the Healthcare industry.
- Excellent interpersonal, written/oral communication and time management skills.
- Early adopter of legal technology who is up to date with benefits of using AI.
- Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, meet legally mandated timelines, and handle multiple demands simultaneously.
- Creative problem solver.
- Excellent analytical and research skills with strong attention to detail.
- Proven ability to work autonomously with excellent judgment.
- A team-player who is comfortable and effective in an environment where there are varied stakeholders asking for assistance.

**Dans ce rôle, vous allez**
- Soutenir les départements interfonctionnels alors qu’ils transforment les défis réglementaires en opportunités.
- Fournir un soutien pour aider l’entreprise à se développer de manière durable et éthique.
- Examiner les normes, règlements et lois provinciaux, d'un océan à l'autre, pour conseiller un large éventail d'intervenants sur les questions réglementaires et les questions juridiques pertinentes.
- Aider les professionnels dentaires à éviter et à répondre aux plaintes réglementaires informelles et formelles, à rédiger des décharges et à répondre à d'autres correspondances.
- Identifier et gérer activement les réclamations pour prévenir les poursuites et minimiser la responsabilité.
- Travailler en étroite collaboration avec notre service marketing, pour assurer le respect de toutes les réglementations applicables en matière de publicité.
- Assurer la liaison avec les organismes de réglementation et gouvernementaux externes pour assurer une conformité continue dans un paysage réglementaire en évolution.
- Coordonner avec notre réseau de cabinets dentaires pour garantir que les activités commerciales quotidiennes respectent le programme de conformité de Dentalcorp et les normes locales.
**Ce que nous recherchons**
- Membre en règle du Barreau de l'Ontario ou Québec, titulaire d'un diplôme universitaire en droit (LLB ou JD) et d'un permis pour exercer le droit en Ontario ou Québec.
- Doit être parfaitement bilingue en français et en anglais
- Au moins un an d'expérience en tant qu'avocat au sein d'un organisme de réglementation, d'une entreprise multisite et du secteur de la santé.
