LIBRARY TECHNICIAN

The Upper Grand District School Board(UGDSB) employs approximately 4,000 dedicated staff who serve more than 35,000 students attending a variety of programs across 65 elementary and 11 secondary schools as well as continuing education and adult learning centres in the counties of Dufferin, Wellington and the City of Guelph. The Board invites qualified applicants for this **full-time** **temporary **position. Duties will commence on August 28, 2023 until June 28, 2024 with a possibility of extension.

**LOCATION**:Guelph Collegiate Vocational Institute

**SALARY RANGE**:$19.46 to $24.28 per hour (35 hours per week)

**FTE/HOURS**: 1.0 FTE (35 hours per week)

**BOARD INFORMATION**: OCT Union, 10-month position

**RESPONSIBILITIES**

Under the supervision of the Teacher-Librarian, duties include:

- Providing automated library services and computer assistance to students and staff
- Assisting students and staff with information location and retrieval
- Responsibility for resources sign-out procedure
- Ordering, receiving, organizing, scheduling and supervising use of resources
- Operation of library electronic learning resources
- Maintenance of library system software
- Cataloguing resources
- Library security
- Related word processing and desk-top publishing duties
- Other duties as assigned

**QUALIFICATIONS**

Education and Experience:

- O.S.S.D. or equivalent
- Library Technician Diploma
- Word processing and desk-top publishing capability
- Successful experience in a secondary school library setting a definite asset
