The Glazier measures, installs and repairs glass at the customer site or in our Ottawa workshop.

**KEY RESPONSIBLITIES & DUTIES**
- Using traditional and modern glazing techniques, measures, cuts, fits and installs different types of glass in:
Wood windows and doors

Metal windows and doors.

**2.** Other duties as may be assigned.

**QUALIFICATIONS**

**Education**:

- High school diploma and successful completion of an apprenticeship.

**Other Experience or Training**:

- Previous experience in the glazing industry is required.

**Technical Skills**:

- Handling / transport of glass.
- Generate a cut list.
- Cut glass to specific sizes.
- Position and secure panes in opening.
- Read and interpret construction drawings.

**Other Qualifications**:

- Ability to meet schedule deadlines, while maintaining highest standard of quality.
- Driver's License, with a good driving abstract is an asset and the ability to get to work for regular and overtime hours (when scheduled or required).
- Must possess a strong knowledge of the glazing industry (Framing and Installation), with an emphasis on service.
- Must have the ability to measure, cut, fit, and install different types of glass in wood / metal windows and doors.
- Must be knowledgeable in traditional and modern glazing techniques.
- Must be reliable and punctual.
- Must own, be familiar with, and able to use a variety of hand and glazing tools.
- Must be able to lift without difficulty (50kg tandem lift for example).
- Must have a friendly and great service-related demeanor.
- Must be highly organized.
- Must be able to work in a team environment.
- Ability to travel for work, if required.
- Able to obtain PWGSC security clearance, including fingerprinting and a criminal record check (mandatory).
