Utility Worker

**DUTIES**:The Utility Worker I, while supporting both production staff of the kitchen and the Cooking and Baking programs faculty and students, will be responsible for performing janitorial duties in a large commercial kitchen, consistent with up-to-date sanitation codes. This individual will be responsible for the cleaning of the kitchen and equipment, pot and pan sink, cleaning floors, maintaining dry storage and coolers/freezers, receiving and rotating stock (FIFO), and assisting with inventory tracking. Some off-site work may be required in the College’s student residence and ancillary operations. Heavy lifting will be required. Other related tasks and duties may be performed as well.
**SCREENING CRITERIA**:
1. Completion of high school
2. Relevant experience working in an institutional and/or commercial kitchen
3. Experience in kitchen janitorial duties - _asset_
**ASSESSMENT CRITERIA**:
1. Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation of a kitchen
2. Knowledge of receiving stock and tracking inventory - _asset_
3. Ability to work independently with limited supervision
4. Organizational/time management skills
5. Effective communication skills
6. Effective working relationships
**SALARY INFORMATION**
CG19 - $ $37,219.00 to $ $40,167.40 per annum; based on a 37.5 hour work week
