The Appliance and Mattress Salesperson at Home Hardware is responsible for providing expert advice and exceptional customer service to customers looking to purchase appliances. They assist customers in selecting the right appliances for their needs, answer inquiries about product features, and ensure a smooth and satisfactory purchasing experience. The Appliance Salesperson should be knowledgeable about various home appliances and stay updated on industry trends to provide informed recommendations. The sales associate will ensure inventory levels are accurate and adequate and your department is neat, clean, and appropriately merchandized.
**DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Greet customers warmly, identify their appliance needs, and guide them through the selection process. Offer product demonstrations and comparisons to help customers make informed decisions.
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing inquiries, resolving concerns, and ensuring a positive shopping experience for each customer.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of various appliances, including refrigerators, ovens, washers, dryers, dishwashers, and more. Stay updated on new models, features, and technology advancements.
- Meet or exceed assigned sales targets and contribute to the overall success of the appliances department.
- Inform customers about current promotions, discounts, and financing options to encourage sales and customer loyalty.
- Assist in organizing and maintaining the appliance display area to ensure it is attractive and well-stocked with the latest models and product information.
- Process appliance orders accurately using the store's Point of Sale (POS) system. Coordinate delivery or installation services as needed.
- Process special orders for non-stock or out of stock items.
- Suggest additional products or accessories that complement customers' appliance purchases.
- Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance product knowledge and sales skills.
- Conduct market research to understand customer preferences, competitor offerings, and emerging trends in the appliance industry.
- Work on special projects as assigned by department manager.
- Cross-train in other departments.
- Work on additional duties and assignments as assigned by management.
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Friendly and helpful attitude toward customers.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Willingness to learn.
- Prior retail Appliance and Mattress Sales Experience Required.
- Willingness to continually develop professional skills and knowledge base.
- Ability to work co-operatively in a team atmosphere.
- Goal-oriented with a track record of achieving sales targets.
- Positive attitude, enthusiasm, and a passion for delivering outstanding customer service.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment and handle multiple customer interactions.
Pay: $19.00-$22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 - 40 per week
