**About the Role**:
Global News Edmonton is currently seeking a full time Weather Anchor to join Edmonton’s #1 news team based out of Edmonton. As a key member of our weather team, you’ll help us to tell Edmonton’s weather story, on-air and on-line, delivering live forecasts and breaking weather coverage. If you love weather, especially the severe kind, and you have the talent to work in a major Canadian market, this role may be for you This is a group I position in current collective agreement.

**You'll be working on things like**:
The following is a paraphrase of the primary functions of the role but does not outline all of the duties and responsibilities that may be assigned:

- Plan, produce and present live, dynamic, informative weather forecasts on Global News at 11
- Report live on-location when required
- Research and develop original, creative story ideas relating to weather
- Actively use social media to connect with our audience and enhance our weather coverage
- Routinely write, post and promote weather content for globalnews.ca
- Participate in daily editorial planning meetings
- Participate in Global promotional and community activities as required

If you have the following...we want to hear from you
- Post-secondary education in a broadcasting related field
- A minimum of 3 years on-air experience in a medium or large market
- Strong on-air presentation skills, with an emphasis on live remote abilities and unscripted material
- Experience using computerized weather graphics systems
- Meteorology Degree and/or Canadian Meteorology and Oceanographic Society (C.M.O.S.) accreditation is a definite asset.
- Working knowledge of how major news organizations are employing a wide range of digital platforms and formats.
- Must be able to handle the demands and pressure of multiple, daily online and broadcast deadlines
