Calgary, Canada Mount Royal University Full time

**Job Description**:
**About MRU**:
Founded in 1910 and located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Mount Royal University has grown from a vibrant college in the 1930s to a mid-sized university in 2009. We offer smaller classes, a robust liberal education, and unique undergraduate programs. Currently, more than 15,000 credit students choose from 13 bachelor's degrees and 36 majors.

Mount Royal University is situated on an ancient and storied land steeped in ceremony and history that, until recently, was occupied exclusively by people indigenous to this place. With gratitude and reciprocity, Mount Royal acknowledges the relationships to the land and all beings, and the songs, stories and teachings of the Siksika Nation, the Piikani Nation, the Kainai Nation, the Îethka Stoney Nakoda Nation (consisting of the Chiniki, Bearspaw and Goodstoney Nations), the people of the Tsuut’ina Nation, and the Métis.

A student-focused undergraduate university built on teaching excellence, we are known for our top-calibre programs, high-quality teaching and learning experience, robust delivery of liberal education, scholarly teaching, experiential learning and undergraduate research. Mount Royal University is committed to removing barriers and fostering the inclusion of historically underrepresented or discouraged voices in our society. Diversity in our faculty and staff enriches the entire campus community's work, learning, and research experiences. Therefore, we strongly encourage members of the designated groups (women, Indigenous Peoples, persons with disabilities, members of visible/racialized minorities, and diverse sexual orientations and gender identities) to apply.

**About the Academic Development Centre**:
The Academic Development Centre (ADC) is administratively housed within Academic Affairs and reports to the Vice-Provost, Academic, and the Provost’s Office. The faculty are members of the Faculty of Health, Community, and Education. The ADC serves the campus community by providing all credit faculty teaching and learning resources and support. The ADC is home to 25 talented team members who serve our faculty in educational technology, media production for academic purposes, curriculum development and consultation, scholarship of teaching and learning, instructional and web design, media training, pedagogies and innovative teaching practices, and faculty professional development.

**About the Role**:
As an ADC Faculty Development Consultant, you will collaborate closely with the Academic Director and the ADC faculty and professional staff teams to serve faculty across the Mount Royal University community to support teaching excellence.

Faculty development tasks and responsibilities in the ADC include, but are not limited to:

- Supporting curriculum development for departments and individual faculty members;
- Planning, facilitating, and evaluating workshops, workshop series, faculty learning communities, communities of practice, orientation programs, and other initiatives that respond to campus needs and support the elevation of scholarly teaching practices of MRU faculty;
- Providing consultations in support of teaching, learning and pedagogical practice;
- Liaising with different departments and units within the institution to further the development of teaching and learning initiatives at MRU;
- Contributing to the design, implementation, and evaluation of innovative teaching and learning practices and projects, which may include creating digital assets and tools for faculty on the ADC website;
- Maintaining currency in (and, when appropriate, contributing to) the academic literature on educational development, higher education teaching and learning, and cognate areas.
- Educational technologies, with particular interest in the integration of Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies in teaching and learning
- Indigenizing and decolonizing in curriculum and teaching and learning
- Advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion in the classroom
