Assistant Pastry Chef

**Paradise Banquet Hall**, one of Vaughan's most sought-after Hospitality and Event Centre, is looking for a professional to be part of our exciting Cake & Pastry team.

This is a permanent part-time position with flexible shift options between Tuesday to Saturday, but this could change depending on events. The individual must meet all of the qualifications outlined below. Baking experience is preferred.

Job Qualifications:

- Minimum 1 year baking, kitchen or equivalent experience
- Must be energetic; passionate about baking
- Attention to detail; able to work in a team atmosphere or individually
- Must have a positive attitude, enjoys challenges and is a fast learner
- Able to take direction well and complete tasks within a deadline
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment with efficiency and control

Job Duties:

- Responsible for baking cakes, choux pastry, preparing fillings and buttercreams
- Assisting in the filling and decorating of high quality pastries and desserts
- Plating of desserts and sweet tables
- Able to read, understand, and follow recipes, order sheets and contracts
- Must be flexible to work occasionally longer shifts with little to no notice (especially during high season).

Previous experience is preferred; however, we are willing to train the right individual for the job if they meet the other requirements.

Part-time hours: 20-32 per week

**Salary**: From $17.00 per hour
